At the edge of the promontory embracing Mikrolimano lies the Nautical Club of Greece with its clubhouse (www.ycg.gr). This historic sailing and yachting club was founded in 1933 with the goal of developing the skills of its athletes and their participation in sports competitions. The club's facilities house the sailing vessels of its athletes, as well as triangle and open-sea boats. The club has organized numerous international sailing competitions and can proudly boast of the victories of its athletes, including Olympic champion Nikos Kaklamanakis. The spaces continue to exude the splendor of the past, and many notable figures choose them for receptions and events.
Another splendid location for those who wish to engage in sailing is the Piraeus Sailing Club (https://iop.gr), also based in Mikrolimano. Established in 1937 with the aim of promoting the sport, it organizes or participates in numerous sea races, such as the Aegean and Ionian Rallies, the Aegean Regatta, and more, having won many distinctions, cups, and awards. They offer open-sea schools and Sailing Academies with coaches. The club's athletes participate in many competitions. You will admire them in various events, and you'll often see them training as you explore the Piraeus beaches. The sight of their white sails standing out in the blue sea is wonderful!
