Gastronomy is a part of our culture. That's why in 2022, the Municipality of Piraeus organized the first gastronomic festival, which was met with great success, enthusiasm, and participation. On the occasion of World Tourism Day, residents and visitors enjoyed unique gastronomic creations centered around fish and seafood and much more. Additionally, there were cooking lessons by renowned chefs for both children and adults, the traditional celebrations of Sparo and the Fishermen, island-style festivities, and much more.
The city's restaurants participated in the celebration with special events and menus, while food stores and culinary schools presented their own taste proposals. Parties, events, parallel activities at Mikrolimano, Peiraias, and Alexandra Square, cultural and gastronomic activities by the cultural departments of the embassies of India and China, and much more were also included in the program of this unique taste festival, which is sure to continue.
Throughout the year, the city hosts thematic festivals dedicated to traditional and contemporary music, dance, cinema, and fine arts, both at the Piraeus Municipal Theater and various multipurpose venues.
The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation organizes various events, workshops, and seminars, which are either held at the Piraeus Municipal Theater, in squares, or in open-air spaces throughout the city.
